Safety Tips for Seniors Playing Golf

Golf surely is a leisurely sport, and there are few risks of injury involved with playing golf. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that injuries and accidents can’t happen at all. In fact, the senior golf players or infrequent golf players are at highest risks of getting an injury while playing golf.

This makes it very important for seniors to take the following precautions while golfing:

• Get some lessons first. One must learn to walk before they can run. Take golf lessons and practice to learn how golf is played and proper techniques. With portable golf simulator, you can do that right at home. Set it up in your basement, living room, or even your garage, and practice until you are ready for a real golf course.

• Use good equipment. Some may feel like it is insignificant what kind of equipment you are using, but the fact is that it matters a lot. It is important you have properly-fitted and quality golf equipment including clubs, shoes, gloves, and clothing. 

• Stay hydrated. Golf is played in day time, under the sun, for hours straight. You need to drink a lot of water and stay hydrated while playing golf. If you think playing golf for hours under the sun isn’t something meant for you, you can choose glow in the dark sports and still play golf, in dark.

• Stretch. You will need to move your whole body in the right way for a proper swing. So, it is important that you stretch and free up your body to deliver that perfect swing.
